Tele-seminars are a huge and growing trend in
Canada and the United States. Also known as long
distance learning, a tele-seminar is a class
conducted over the telephone, much like a
conference call.
Participants
sign up for courses (usually over the internet)
and are then invited to dial in to a bridge line
which allows for a large number of people to be
on one phone call. The tele-seminar leaders
facilitate their workshops while participants
from all over the world listen in, sometimes
join in and of course they learn!
You pay long
distance charges for the bridge line. If you
don't have a long distance plan, a long distance
phone card (available at gas stations &
convenience stores) is all you need. They
usually run you about 3-4 cents/minute so the
whole call will cost less than $3!

Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm PST.
